Elka's front single rate shock absorber is available in a piggy back reservoir and it comes with compression and rebound adjustments. (compression = when you hit a bump and your shock coils down, Rebound = when your shock is on it's way up from the compression stroke) One of the key features of the Elka shocks is:
The self-sagging device (SSD), which allows you to have the maximum traction / stability at the beginning of the stroke while ensuring excellent impact resistance at the end. This feature lowers the ride height - and therefore the center of gravity of the All terrain vehicle. This results in improved cornering characteristics and better weight distribution.
Elka's also feature a, "Dune Edition" style shock which takes on a little different approach than the SSD series. It provides you with more low-speed compression resistance, which eliminates excessive diving and body roll in sharp corners when carving the dune prevents bottoming out on G-outs during transitions between dunes and while jumping. The valving provides softer damping in high-speed compression so that the suspension is more active over choppy terrain and sand grooves, making the ride more enjoyable.
Every Elka shock absorber is custom-tuned to the specifications of the rider such as: weight, vehicle use (cross country, motocross, tt, recreational) skill level (Beginner, Intermediate, Expert) and dimension of a arms being used when applicable (Lonestar +2 or +3's, Alba +2, etc)
Elka offers an array of different shocks so if you don't see what your looking for please contact our parts department at: 800.487.3236 just ask the receptionist for parts.
